What is the Woodruff Place Flea Market?
Shop, stroll, and celebrate with us during our 48th annual Flea Market!
Every year during the first weekend of June, the Woodruff Place Flea Market combines two days of treasure hunting with food, fun, and terrific socializing. The Flea Market began as a neighborhood fundraiser in 1975 and has grown from neighbors selling stuff in their yards to 80 acres and more than 200 yards filled with goods for sale. What will you find at Flea Market? Bargains! Food and drink! Entertainment! It’s an entire neighborhood filled with an impressive array of treasures for sale.
In the heart of the neighborhood, we feature local food, drink, and picturesque views to keep you happy while you rest your feet for a moment. Early June is the perfect time to walk along the sidewalks, sit on front porches, and enjoy the grassy esplanades of one of the city’s oldest and most beautiful neighborhoods. Find a tall shade tree and listen to the sparkling fountains.
In addition to all the fun, there is a critical community purpose for this event. Each resident or guest who sells items during the Flea Market is asked to donate a percentage of sales to our Civic League. These proceeds help support many neighborhood infrastructure projects such as our historic fountains, streetlights, town hall, esplanades, statuary, and 10th Street fence.
We encourage you to carpool, ride share, use public transit, bike, or walk if feasible! Additional free parking is open north of the neighborhood, in the Teachers’ Treasures lot.
Mark your calendars today; we hope to see you there!
